Project Background:

Custom home designers and builders Dennis and Annette Martin approached me to do a couple renderings of a large home under construction in Boulder, Colo.  They had a mostly-completed model of the building produced by a student, so I didn’t have much modeling to do before rendering.

Illustration Process:

They liked the idea of showing the house in the early evening to showcase the lighting and rich colors.  I didn’t have a particular look or style in mind when I was rendering, but I think they turned out really nice.  They have some realistic qualities, but also some softer painterly details as well.
