Project Background:
Downtown Summerlin (formerly Summerlin Center) in Summerlin, Nevada, is a 1.6 million-square-foot shopping center. Construction on the project was started in 2007 and halted in 2008 due to the Great Recession. After a five-year hiatus, the project design was refreshed and construction was completed by The Howard Hughes Corporation.
Communication Arts was hired to design the tenant criteria, signage, and environmental graphic design of public spaces.
My Approach:
In addition to illustrating the public spaces and tenant criteria, the goal of these renderings was to communicate the life, energy and scale of Downtown Summerlin. The eye-level architectural illustrations showcase the landscaping, shade structures and water features that help to cool the open air mall.
Completed while at Communication Arts.
